Airlines Hate Their Customers
America is a capitalist country. A certain level of expectations comes with that.
Consumers desire quality products and services. Corporations strive and compete to attract satisfied consumers to buy those things from them. It’s mutually beneficial.
My apologies to the Bernie Sanders voters, but I kind of think the system works pretty well.
But the one service where the whole capitalist thing seems to break down is commercial aviation.
The American airline industry does not give a rat’s butt if you are satisfied.
In fact, the only way the airline business model makes any sense is if you go with the premise that they HATE their customers.
That’s it. That’s the explanation. There is no other.
Only when you view every business decision made by every airline through the lens that they HATE their customers does any of it make sense.
This is clear to ANY traveler who has ANY interaction at ANY step in the process of purchasing ANY service from ANY airline.
