Who are third-party travel sites?
A third-party site is also referred to as the middle-man. The provider is the first party, the buyer is the second party, and the individual consumer is you—the third party.
When you use travel sites like Expedia, they buy travel arrangements like flights and hotel nights from the company itself, then sell them at a (sometimes) discounted rate to you, the consumer.
While third-party sites may offer the lowest fares in an upfront price comparison, there are pitfalls that aren’t worth the savings.
