From newbie travelers to seasoned vets – flight attendants are forced to deal with a wide variety of travelers on each flight.
While flight attendants typically have a smile on their face (even if it’s fake) and are paid to serve you – there are some things travelers say that really put them over the edge.
So if you’re guilty of saying any of these 3 things to your flight attendant– we have some alternative solutions if you’d like to avoid making enemies with the flight crew.
Are We There Yet?
Yes… there’s always that one annoying traveler who has no idea how long the flight takes.
This traveler can’t calculate time zone changes – and always wants to know how much longer until the plane arrives at its final destination.
And they’ll want to know “where” in the sky the plane is at any given moment…
… and demand the flight attendant give them updates.
Of course – this drives flight attendants nuts – they’re busy serving hundreds of guests and often don’t know “where” the plane is in the sky at every moment.
Some planes have screens that allow travelers to track their own travel.
But even if you “don’t know” exactly where you are – you can do the math on your phone and figure it out.
Or just go to sleep and relax – you’ll get there when you get there!
This Drink Is Too Expensive!
Please don’t be that guy who orders a drink and then complains that it’s “too expensive.”
The flight attendant didn’t set the price of the drinks.
They’re just trying to take your payment and give you what you want.
Taking your anger out on them is fruitless.
With that said – there’s typically a drink card in your seat’s pocket which lists what beverages are offered.
For those drinking non-alcoholic drinks – it’s helpful to know what you want before they arrive at your seat to keep things running efficiently for everybody.
Flight attendants get annoyed having to rattle off the “drink list” when it’s readily available to you.
And remember when ordering a drink – don’t get the coffee!
Can You Throw Away My Diaper?
Flight attendants get to see it all – but it doesn’t mean they like it.
Like the new mom changing her baby on the tray table (that people eat off of!) – and then handing the soiled and smelly diaper to the flight attendant to get rid of.
Wrap the diaper in a plastic bag and tie it – and dispose of it in the lavatory onboard.
Same with vomit.
Yes, there are barf bags.
No, it’s not the flight attendant’s job to take your wet bag of seeping vomit and dispose of it for you.
They are there to help – but they aren’t your slave.
We get it – not every flight attendant is kind or gracious.
Sometimes they may seem to ignore you or take forever to serve your drink.
But regardless, there’s no need to cop an attitude and be rude to the flight crew.
Who knows, if you’re pleasant enough – you might just score bonus snacks or quicker service!
