It’s clear air travel is a bit crazy lately and passengers are growing weary of canceled flights and forced mandates.
But it seems these days “passengers behaving badly” has escalated to a whole new level of madness.
So just what caused one passenger to actually be physically restrained and duct-taped to his seat on a recent Frontier Airlines flight?
Apparently, 22-year-old Maxwell Berry had a bit too much to drink and was stumbling down the aisle, spilling his drink all over himself – causing flight attendants to help him get a clean shirt out of his luggage to change his clothes.
Annoying, but not unpardonable.
But then Berry proceeded to grope two female flight attendants – and punch a male flight attendant who stepped in to help.
In order to contain the situation, the flight attendants had to physically duct-tape Berry to his seat… and even duct-taped his mouth to silence his cries for “help”!
Insanity!
At first, Frontier Airlines suspended the flight attendants involved while the situation was under investigation.
But now, Frontier Airlines has publicly sided with their flight attendants, vowing to continue cracking down on unruly passengers.
The Miami Herald reported:
“During a flight from Philadelphia to Miami on July 31, a passenger made inappropriate physical contact with two flight attendants and subsequently physically assaulted another flight attendant.
As a result, the passenger needed to be restrained until the flight landed in Miami and law enforcement arrived,” it read.
“Frontier Airlines maintains the utmost value, respect, concern and support for all of our flight attendants, including those who were assaulted on this flight. We are supporting the needs of these team members and are working with law enforcement to fully support the prosecution of the passenger involved.”
Wow.
Passengers behaving badly has catapulted to a whole new level of crazy!
Formerly, a drunk passenger would just drink water or coffee to sober up and pass out… perhaps snoring obnoxiously.
But now we’re at the point of actually assaulting and groping flight attendants.
In our last edition of passengers behaving badly, we told you about the lady on an American Airlines flight who became so hysterical when her seat charger wouldn’t work that she stormed the flight deck – forcing the plane to enter into a “Level Three Lockdown” and make an emergency landing.
The Federal Aviation Administration has had ENOUGH of unruly passengers and recently issued a $52,000 fine to a guy who struck a Delta flight attendant (twice) and then tried to open up the airplane door mid-flight!
We’ve gone from just your average super-gross passenger who pops their blisters or walks barefoot on the plane – to a guy so out of control that he gets duct-taped to his seat.
So on your next flight – make sure you have your phone’s camera ready – you might just be the one to film the next viral video of a passenger behaving badly!
Do you think Frontier Airlines made the right decision to duct-tape a passenger to his seat?
