The mystery of Machu Picchu, the heights of the Torres del Paine, and the markets of Dakar are all bucket list destinations many of us only dream about.
Traveling to exotic and far-off places isn’t practical for the average person who’s just trying to keep up with paying the bills.
But what if you could see some of the best sights the world has to offer without it costing you a dime?
Well, TourRadar is offering a “Tour the World” excursion packed with fun and adventure—for free!
All you have to do is agree to this one catch: Embark on this once in a lifetime journey with a complete stranger—and share all your experiences with social media.
There will be a professional filming crew following you from place to place, chronicling TourRadar’s “Tour the World” for their marketing sites and social media pages.
As mentioned in Travel and Leisure:
“TourRadar, the world’s largest online travel agency for multi-day tours, is seeking two complete strangers ready and willing to travel together on the trip of a lifetime as part of its Tour the World campaign.”
Where will the adventure take you?
You will navigate through five different continents with action-packed tours at each destination.
According to TourRadar’s chief marketing officer, Michael Potscher, “Multi-day touring is the easiest way possible for any traveler to experience the world in a relatively short amount of time.”
Multi-day tours allow you to visit several different regions or cities over the course of 2-10 days each.
This type of travel takes the headache out of planning. No more toiling over where to go or tirelessly pouring through endless attraction reviews. Just pack your bags and enjoy.
Potscher continues, “Through our Tour the World campaign, we are creating the ultimate trip of a lifetime for two strangers that will inspire others to engage in life-enriching experiences through multi-day touring.”
Participants will not know what destination they’re headed to next until they get on their flight, but hey, that’s part of the excitement.
This incredible trip will last a total of 50-60 days, so you’ll want to pack smart, but pack light too.
What do you have to do to get in on this?
In order to qualify for the free airfare, expenses, accommodations, and meals covered by TourRadar, you must submit a 2-minute video explaining why you think you’re the one who should participate in this epic getaway.
Showcase something unique about yourself that will draw others to tune into your fun-filled adventure.
Submissions need to be sent in by March 24th and winners will be announced sometime in April.
Is traveling with a stranger scary?
Traveling with a stranger can be daunting, but remember, all friends were once strangers.
However, traveling solo has become increasingly popular, and you never know what kind of interesting people you’ll meet, as Proud American Traveler has previously reported.
According to Solo Traveler, their subscribers grew from 35,000 to 46,000 in the last year, showing that more and more people are interested in taking their next trip alone.
A writer for the travel site BootsnAll Travel explains that, “Meeting new people and traveling go hand in hand. Any interaction, good or bad, adds depth to our experiences.”
So, if you get stuck traveling with a chatty Kathy who smells a bit funny, just think of all the “depth” you’re experiencing during your journey.
But chances are you’ll be paired up with another travel enthusiast who’s just as excited as you to experience an opportunity they otherwise would not have had the means to enjoy.
As Bethany Crystal, who writes for Medium says, “Everybody you meet has at least one incredible story to share.”
Could this one be yours?
Please tell us in the comments section what you think of traveling with strangers. Do you think you’ll enter the competition?
