The Roaring Black Hills
Ok, so the Black Hills aren’t actually black, but this breathtaking mountainous range of rocky hills earned their name from their dark appearance.
From a distance they look black, but as you get closer you see it’s the trees that give off the dark color.
While in the Black Hills, be sure to check out Custer State Park, where you’ll literally see wild bison roaming around.
But please don’t be that tourist who decides to “pet” or feed the bison.
It won’t end well.
Capture some photos from your car, but remember, they are free roaming and dangerous animals.
Don’t approach them.
The Black Hills are also home to some of the most famous sculptures in America like Mount Rushmore.
And this massive 71,000-acre park is perfect for the outdoor buff.
They’ve got everything from biking, to fishing, even hunting!
