Our world is a traveler’s playground where one can jet across the globe to experience the beauty, culture, and wonder of all there is to see and explore.
And while every city has their own unique niche – one city was just named the world’s most powerful city for tourism.
Wondering which city scored the number one spot?
It should come as no surprise – Paris took the lead in earning the prestigious title as the world’s most powerful city for tourism.
The tourism data was analyzed by World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), a non-profit based in the UK.
So what factors earned Paris the number one spot?
Follow the money!
“The overall list of most powerful tourism cities didn’t only take museum tickets and hotel rooms into account, though. The other factor was how much local and national governments and businesses are investing in these cities as tourist destinations.
Take list-topper Paris for example: the city is preparing to host the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Although fewer than 5% of the facilities will be newly built for the Games, the city is pouring resources into infrastructure, security and other measures that will help them get ready to host the world.
By that accounting, the French capital’s overall tourism total came to $35.6 billion.”
Of course, the United States is also a hot tourist spot and three of our very own cities made WTTC’s list – Orlando, New York City, and Las Vegas.
According to WTTC, Orlando brought in $31 billion for 2022.
I guess it pays to have a Governor like Ron DeSantis who supports pro-business policies for his state!
According to CNN, WTTC predicts China is on the rise and will “dominate” by 2032.
… it’s not surprising other countries will have the chance to get ahead of the United States.
But back to Paris.
