While America is full of beautiful landscapes and history, there are some places that are just… well… miserable.
After decades of leftist politicians enacting harmful policies onto their citizens, these cities can’t seem to catch a break.
From poverty to crime, to lack of employment opportunities and depressed residents, find out if your hometown makes the list of the top most miserable cities in America.
Huntington Park, California
Business Insider released their list of the “50 Most Miserable Cities In America” based on census data from 1,000 different cities.
It should serve as no surprise that out of the top 50 most miserable places – 10 of them are in California!
You might wonder how a state with such beautiful beaches and nearly perfect weather all year-round could be miserable.
The answer is because leftist politicians have utterly DESTROYED the state with their regulations and oppressive policies.
During COVID-19, Cali’s lunatic governor Gavin Newsom jumped at the chance to shut down churches and businesses…
…while he partied on – with all his pals – without a mask.
As for Huntington Park, more than 28-percent of residents live in poverty.
And although Huntington Park has a median home value of over $500,000 – making it one of the highest in the nation – the per capita income is only $15,388, with only 6.4-percent of residents having graduated college.
Despite these grim statistics, the Los Angeles Times still refers to Huntington Park as a “working-class haven.”
Detroit often gets a bad rap – but there’s a reason.
Full of abandoned homes and boarded-up businesses, people are fleeing Detroit in droves.
Detroit isn’t only a city full of poverty – it’s dangerous.
Back in my younger days, I actually took a bus to Detroit to visit a friend… and the bus was RAIDED by drug agents and several men were hauled off in handcuffs.
It was surely a trip to remember!
Online database, NeighborhoodScout, gives Detroit a “2” on their crime index (100 is the highest) – which means it’s only safer than 2-percent of the cities in America!
And residents are pretty rude too…
… like the woman who tazed a McDonald’s employee because her food was taking too long.
Located just 40 miles from Chicago, Business Insider names Gary, Indiana the most miserable city in America.
With unemployment rates at over 36-percent and a vanquished manufacturing industry – there’s not much hope left for this town.
One DEA agent says things have gotten so bad that Gary is no longer the murder capital of the U.S.
Because there aren’t enough people left to kill!
The Guardian reported:
“We used to be the murder capital of the US, but there is hardly anybody left to kill. We used to be the drug capital of the US, but for that you need money, and there aren’t jobs or things to steal here.”
Known as the “Birthplace of General Motors,” Flint was crushed when its manufacturing jobs dried up.
And now, 41-percent of residents live in poverty.
In fact, Business Insider reports even more dreary facts.
“Flint is perhaps best known for the water crisis it’s been facing since 2014, where residents were being poisoned with lead.
On top of that, it’s got 20,000 abandoned properties to deal with, a consistently high murder rate, and an opioid problem.”
While the cities above may be ranked as “miserable” based on census data – there are other cities (and even states) that deserve to make the list.
New York is run by left-wing politicians who are determined to force their big-government policies onto everyone.
During COVID-19, Governor Cuomo tortured anyone who even tried to visit his state by slapping them with insane mandates and fines.
Now he’s pushing for the “Excelsior Pass” which will force residents to have “digital proof” of their COVID-19 vaccination or negative test results before they can attend events at places like Madison Square Garden.
Ironically enough, even the New York Times admits the total for the Excelsior Pass could end up costing taxpayers a whopping $17 million (up from the $2.5 million they originally projected).
Yeah, no thanks.
And let’s not forget Baltimore – a textbook case of how big government creates a culture of dependency and entitlement that results in rundown cities and failed welfare programs.
But even though leftist policies have ruined some of America’s cities, there are still plenty of freedom lovin’ places that welcome Proud American Travelers – at least for now.
