If you love your freedom and value your personal privacy, you might want to carefully consider where you decide to travel to this summer.
While some states are easing up on stay-at-home restrictions and mandates, others are doubling down and doing everything from forcing everyone who ventures out into the public to wear a mask to even hiring “ambassadors” to police the general public.
From contract tracing to getting fined for playing Frisbee on the beach, check out the top 4 U.S. destinations you should avoid this summer.
Hawaii
Dreaming of a Hawaiian vacation in Maui full of sandy white beaches and a deep blue ocean swimming experience with dolphins?
Save it for another year.
Hawaii’s Governor still has a mandatory 14-day quarantine in place for all inter-island travelers.
Which means if you fly to Hawaii, you need to quarantine yourself in your hotel room for 14-days and not leave.
Think you can get away with breaking the rules?
One guy recently visited Hawaii and received a $2,500 for sunbathing on the beach.
Yes seriously.
Oh and by the way, upon entering Hawaii you have to fill out a mandatory tracking form for “health purposes” – and if you don’t you could be prohibited from boarding a flight.
For all the liberty lovers out there who want to enjoy a fun vacation – Hawaii is definitely not the place this year.
It seems as if Hawaii needs to get back to their “aloha” vibe if they want freedom-loving Americans to visit again.
Virginia
Recently, Virginia’s Governor arrogantly told Virginians their “homework assignment” was to start figuring out how to get masks – hinting to a future mandate.
Sure enough, the following week he issued a mandatory mask mandate for anyone over the age of 10 in all public places.
Like a typical politician, his hypocrisy was exposed as pictures emerged of him walking around a beach boardwalk taking selfies with people while not wearing a mask himself.
He muttered an apology and claimed he wasn’t prepared to be “within six feet of anyone.”
Give me a break.
This is a classic “do as I say, not as I do” mandate that is being forced upon everyone in Virginia– whether they live in Virginia or are simply just visiting.
And here’s the real kicker, Virginia is serious about the mask mandate – not wearing one is considered a Class 1 misdemeanor – which could mean up to 1-year in jail and/or a $2,500 fine!
Of course, the Governor claims the mask mandate is for “safety” and stated it will be up to the Department of Health to enforce…
…essentially shifting the responsibility to small businesses who are already crumbling due to closures and other mandates.
But wait, there’s more.
According to the Virginia Pilot, Virginia Beach entered a $1.2 million dollar contract with IMGoing to hire “beach ambassadors” to literally stand on the beaches in Virginia “reminding people” of all the restrictions they must follow.
Imagine being forced to wear a mask everywhere you go in Virginia – from the grocery store to the boardwalk, and even into restaurants!
Sound unbelievable?
This is the reality Virginians are facing.
So if you want to breathe comfortably this summer, you might want to pass on a trip to the Old Dominion.
California
Of course, one of America’s most liberal states is jumping at the dance to gain even more control over its citizens.
During COVID-19, San Diego closed all beaches and only had them open for “individual exercise.”
As of June 2nd, The City of Del Mar (located in the County of San Diego) “relaxed” restrictions – but still made wearing masks a mandatory requirement on beaches if social distancing wasn’t “possible.”
They’ve also banned any form of beach time fun.
Want to play Frisbee?
Nope, not allowed.
Plan to have a game of volleyball with your friends?
Sorry, can’t do that either.
Even if you want to simply spend the day at the beach, Del Mar is asking visitors to “take turns” on the beach to allow for social distancing.
They’ve also threatened to fine people for violating the rules and claim the beach will only remain open if people follow the rules.
Yeah, no thanks.
Save your money and skip visiting Cali this summer.
New York
There’s never really a reason to visit New York City…
Okay, the shopping experience can be fun and it is pretty decked out at Christmastime.
But if you’re brave enough to enter into the liberal bastion of the country at any other time– get ready.
New York City isn’t satisfied with just making people wear masks and follow social distancing protocols.
They’re all about the new “tracing” program to help track down people who could have COVID-19 and are even hiring “contact tracers” to reach out to supposed contacts of infected people to “ensure compliance with quarantine procedures.”
CBS News reported:
“The city has hired 1,700 people for its contact tracing effort and needs to reach 2,500 total hires to meet Governor Andrew Cuomo’s target for entering the first phase of the state’s four-step reopening process. The contact tracers are placing people infected with the virus in hotel rooms if they need to isolate themselves away from their families as well as reaching out to the close contacts of those who test positive for COVID-19.”
Of course, all this data collected is promised to be “confidential”, but yeah right.
And how exactly are these contract tracers going to “ensure compliance”?
Sounds like a privacy nightmare.
Skip the drama in NYC this year and save yourself the headache of getting caught up in this madness.
