Prior to the pandemic, leftist politicians and big government bureaucrats around the world had already been shoving burdensome policies down the public’s throat.
Once the pandemic began, government overlords took advantage of the uncertainty and fear in citizens in order to implement “mandates” that gave them direct control over daily life.
Now with the pandemic subsiding in many regions, we’re seeing a “new normal” that’s disturbingly Orwellian in nature – so much so that now you have to show your personal medical records just to grab a cup of joe before work!
Simple everyday tasks like running to the grocery store, picking the kids up from school, or grabbing a cup of coffee with a friend are some personal freedoms we’ve taken for granted.
In Moscow, these simple errands can no longer be done if you haven’t obliged the government’s medical recommendations and aren’t willing to share your personal health information with a complete stranger.
What do we mean?
Reuters reports that in Moscow, “Customers had to start showing QR-codes to get their coffees in Moscow on Monday, under new rules requiring cafes to only serve people who could show proof of vaccination, immunity or a negative COVID test.”
What kind of control freaks need proof that you’re complying with so-called “voluntary” vaccination protocols just to buy a cup of coffee?
But the madness doesn’t end at the cafes.
Bars and restaurants are also requiring patrons’ QR vaccination codes if they want to meet coworkers for a beer or enjoy a night out with their spouse.
“The coronavirus situation in Moscow remains extremely difficult,” Moscow’s Mayor Sergei Sobyanin told TASS News Agency.
Sobyanin feels these oppressive requirements are a necessary means of survival.
But what if you cannot present your QR vaccination code because you don’t have one?
Businesses are still permitted to serve customers who lack a QR vaccination code on “outdoor terraces and verandas” up until July 12th.
After July 12th, it won’t matter how healthy you are or how long you’ve been a loyal customer – you will be shunned for non-compliance.
What’s occurring in Moscow is no different than what’s going on in Israel with their “Green Pass” – where citizens are shamed from joining religious services or entering establishments unless they have one.
In a frightening demonstration here at home, New York City has “proudly” boasted about their “Excelsior Pass” which is their form of proof of vaccination for easier travel and entrance into major establishments and events such as Madison Square Garden.
While many places have pushed to embrace a Big Brother society, some have moved in the opposite direction to uphold civil liberties.
Italy has lifted its mask mandate in all regions except Aosta Valley.
In the U.S., Texas and Florida have made very public declarations that they will not be holding anyone’s freedoms hostage in order for their vaccination numbers to rise.
Sadly, there are very few states that are forbidding businesses and educational institutions from requiring vaccination in order to gain entrance.
Most states and countries are implementing their own proof of vaccination protocols before citizens are allowed to participate in the activities they once enjoyed so effortlessly.
The precedence has been set.
Our freedoms are subject to government approval. And that approval requires complete compliance and transparency of our personal information.
