With Biden’s record-high inflation and surging prices bankrupting American families – it seems everyone is looking for ways to save extra cash and maximize their resources.
But if you happen to rent your home and flinch each month you “waste” your money on paying for something you don’t own – well now you can at least get something back.
This credit card actually lets you pay your rent with no extra fees – and gives you travel points as a reward – but is there a catch?
The Insane World Of Credit Card Points
Playing the travel credit card game is not for the faint of heart.
But there are diehards who have hacked the system and truly gotten the best bang for their buck – and they do get to travel for nearly free.
Sure they’re nuts and they’ll book a roundtrip flight just to earn points… or even dive in a dumpster…
… and for those who have multiple cards and track sign-up bonuses and points – they’re always looking for the next best thing.
And for these people who also rent – this just might be it.
Pay Your Rent With This Credit Card
There are several ways to pay your rent and earn points – but the Bilt Mastercard® lets you charge your rent with no extra transaction fees.
But what if your unit only takes a check?
Well you’re in luck!
According to their website – Bilt claims “even if your property only accepts checks, you can still pay with your card through the Bilt Rewards app and we’ll send a check on your behalf”.
They have a bunch of other travel benefits like no foreign currency conversion fee, trip cancellation & interruption protection, trip delay reimbursement, and auto rental collision damage waiver.
And with wacky airlines canceling flights and leaving passengers stranded – these are definitely good benefits to have.
So what can you actually get with the points you earn from paying your rent?
While you can’t get cash back like some cards – you can transfer the points to one of their many partners 1:1.
Some of their partners include AAdvantage program, Hawaiian Airlines, IHG Rewards, World of Hyatt, and United – just to name a few.
Word Of Caution
If you have a shopping addiction or struggle to pay your bills each month – this is not the card for you!
Don’t think you can just “charge your rent” and have more cash to spend doing whatever you want.
Credit card interest fees are INSANE – and this type of card is only for the disciplined folks who will simply pay their rent with this card – and immediately pay it off.
But other than that, if you don’t yet own a home and want to make paying rent just a little less painful – this might be the card for you!
