Many people long to flee their oppressive countries and become citizens of the greatest nation on earth — The United States of America.
And sure, we welcome those who follow the procedures to become law-abiding citizens, and we even have compassion for those who seek asylum here to escape violence in their native land.
But the latest “birth tourism” trend is illegal – and it made one woman millions of dollars.
This lady helped foreigners come to America to give birth on American soil so their baby would automatically have American citizenship.
Even more shady, while many Americans are working multiple jobs just to make ends meet, this crook was living a lavish lifestyle in California, spending the millions she made on multiple properties, expensive luxury cars, and even her own personal housekeepers.
If you’re wondering just how she did it – here’s the scoop on what went down.
“You Win USA Vacation Services Corp”
The Chinese woman made a business titled “You Win USA Vacation Services Corp” targeting women overseas (mostly from China) and luring them to the United Sates to give birth to their baby.
Of course, she charged them a steep fee (up to $80k per birth), which she pocketed to prop up her lavish lifestyle in Orange County, California.
After all, somebody had to pay for her multiple Mercedes.
The Chinese women who came to America were coached on how to beat the U.S. immigration system, and once they arrived, they lived in lavish apartments in California until they gave birth.
She Even Made A Cartoon To Promote Her Business
To promote her business, she created a cartoon which showed two women — a visibly pregnant woman on one side and a slimmed version of the same woman having just given birth, holding her baby wrapped in an American flag.
It’s clear as day this was meant to promote the idea of guaranteed citizenship, just for giving birth.
And it turns out the business was a successes – the Chinese woman made millions of dollars and an estimated over 500 women benefited from the scheme.
It Gets Even Weirder
The business listed tips on how their customers could get into the USA – and encouraged those filling out their VISA applications to say they were staying at Trump International Hotel in Hawaii!
Of course, the shady business also encouraged women to flock to America before they actually showed signs of pregnancy so they could hide their true intentions.
Clearly, this business was a well thought-out and calculated immigration fraud scheme.
Living It Up In America
And while this Chinese woman was in America and leading others how to lie on their VISA application, she was not suffering to make ends meet.
Reports show she was living in a rich California home, indulging in a lavish lifestyle with multiple Mercedes and housekeepers.
When authorities busted her, they seized two properties, six vehicles, gold bars, and more than $1 million from her bank accounts, reported CNN.
It’s shameful how this woman was living it up helping foreigners exploit the benefits and freedoms in America, while many honest and hard-working Americans can barely make ends meet.
A Slap On The Wrist
The woman pled guilty to VISA fraud, but ended up taking a deal which only locks her up for 10 months.
Even though she lived a lavish lifestyle, her defense attorney claimed she didn’t really make as much money as people thought, and stated some of that money came from “other businesses” in China.
Yeah, right.
Ridiculous.
Turns out, prosecutors agreed and released a scathing statement.
CNN reported:
“America’s way of life is not for sale,” said Joseph Macias, Special Agent in Charge of Homeland Security Investigations in Los Angeles, in a statement earlier this year. “Anyone who would exploit our nation’s generosity and our legal immigration system should be a on notice – they may end up being the ones to pay a very steep price.”
To put it simply – this woman committed fraud. She admitted it. There was no question.
She also raked in some serious dough.
We’re talking $3 million.
And she basically gets to walk away with no penalty – as 10 months is nothing for what she did.
Sounds like lady justice took a beating on this one.
