If you’ve been to an airport this year, you’ve probably endured a surreal experience – from deserted lounges to enhanced “screenings,” it’s like you are starring in the next sci-fi movie.
The truth is, health “experts” have put fear into people hoping they would avoid airports to help stop the spread of COVID-19, but for those who decided to travel anyway, they’ve been blasted with countless rules they must follow to “stay safe.”
Now, the CDC is admitting that their entire strategy was wrong and things like temperature checks do nothing to stop the spread of COVID-19.
SAY WHAT?
Yes really.
After passengers have been forced to undergo countless medical screenings, lengthy questionnaires, mandatory masks, and temperature checks before they could board their plane…
… now the CDC is walking back the rules, citing that they’ve learned more about how COVID-19 is actually transmitted.
Yahoo News reported:
“We now have a better understanding of COVID-19 transmission that indicates symptom-based screening has limited effectiveness because people with COVID-19 may have no symptoms or fever at the time of screening, or only mild symptoms. Transmission of the virus may occur from passengers who have no symptoms or who have not yet developed symptoms of infection. Therefore, CDC is shifting its strategy and prioritizing other public health measures to reduce the risk of travel-related disease transmission.”
Lovely.
So just what is this new “shift in strategy”?
Well, part of it includes collecting more “voluntary” data on passengers – on the hope that if passengers give more information about themselves, they can stop the spread.
Uh huh, sure.
Oh – and they’ll provide more health “education” to passengers.
Actually, it would be nice if they’d educate the airline employees – so they don’t deboard an entire plane because a two-year-old can’t keep her mask on or tell a guy he can’t fly because his mask has an American flag on it.
In reality, this is just another example of government officials jumping the gun and forcing Americans to submit to their authority – without actually knowing what they are talking about.
Airport officials previously assumed someone was “safe” if they didn’t have a temperature…
… now everyone knows someone could have COVID-19 and be asymptomatic.
And while they still stand behind their mask mandate, let’s actually play out this theory.
If COVID-19 is so dangerous without a mask…
… do you think people smushed together in a tightly enclosed airplane breathing the same air who happen to remove their masks to eat or drink is risky?
Or if social distancing is something encouraged to “stop the spread” – why are airlines still seating passengers in middle seats between strangers?
Because it’s all about their bottom line.
They can’t afford to fly planes at limited capacities, so even though many vowed to keep middle seats open, they’ve resorted back to their old ways.
Here’s the reality – traveling during a pandemic is a risk.
But travelers should be the ones to decide if they’re willing to take that risk and fly.
However, to make an educated decision, they need to be given the actual facts.
And airlines can’t promise to “deep clean” their planes – only to walk-back restrictions.
Or vow to have flights with “limited passengers” only to stuff them full with no empty seat in sight.
People are getting whiplash as every day it seems there are new hurdles to jump through just to fly.
And if someone wants to travel internationally – forget it.
Previously all international travel was ranked a Level 4 “Do Not Travel Status” (which has since been walked-back) and had strict rules about what airports travelers could fly into.
But all of this just proves no one really has any idea what’s going on.
Every country is operating by their own playbook – from installing tracking devices on citizens to demanding mandatory negative COVID-19 results.
And as the dramatic show goes on, it seems like we’re the ones who have been played.
