1. Invite some help to come along
It started as a joke, but turned into a reality when my parents called us early in the planning stages of our trip and offered to come along to help with our son.
When my parents originally offered to take care of George in case we didn’t choose to bring him, my wife jokingly responded by saying they should just come to Ireland with us.
Well, Ireland had long been on their lists of countries to visit, so joining us to help take care of our son was apparently a good idea to them and so they came!
While there are always challenges of traveling with a larger group of people (i.e. different interests, personalities etc.), having the extra hands was well worth it.
Not only that, but it also split up the cost for our Air BnB. My sister also decided to tag along, which made fun memories for our son and one of his Aunts.
