Catching COVID-19 overseas is every traveler’s worst nightmare.
From being forced to quarantine in a government facility with tracking devices and pay a steep fine, to having to spend hundreds of dollars to prove your “safe enough” to enter back home – most Americans are opting out.
But if you happen to catch COVID-19 while in the Bahamas – this resort in Nassau will not only welcome you to quarantine there for 14-days and offer you a private jet back to the States – they’ll pay for it too!
Knowing the expense and inconvenience of traveling overseas should one come down with COVID-19 is enough to cause most travelers to postpone international travel indefinitely.
But the Baha Mar resort in the Bahamas wants you to be confident enough to book with them that they’re willing to ease your fears should you happen to get COVID-19 while traveling.
If you catch COVID-19 on their property, they won’t lock you in a dungeon or make you pay ridiculous fines.
Instead, they’re rolling out the red carpet.
The Points Guy reported:
“In a press release issued Monday, Baha Mar said that it would provide “courtesy suite accommodations” for up to 14 days, including a $150 per person, per day dining credit, or “should the guest need to return to the United States earlier,” a free flight on a private jet back to the U.S. facilitated “via a medical evacuation provider,” according to a Baha Mar spokesperson, for the COVID-19-positive guest and their immediate family members. These services are funded by Baha Mar itself and come at no additional cost to guests.
These offerings build upon the property’s “Commitment to Your Wellbeing” program, which includes complimentary rapid antigen testing upon arrival and prior to departure if your home country requires it.”
Wow.
Talk about going the extra mile!
Instead of being locked out of your hotel room should you even leave to grab a newspaper…
… Baha Mar will actually give you $150 a day in dining credit.
And to make sure you’re in the clear to head home, they even offer complementary COVID-19 testing too.
But if you still test positive for COVID-19 while on vacation at this resort, don’t worry about a thing.
Instead of leaving you stranded on foreign soil, you can ride a private jet back to the States under a “medical evacuation provider.”
While Baha Mar is one of the first to take such drastic measures to regain the confidence and trust of their guests, it’s likely other resorts will follow their blueprint.
