While many have adjusted to the new normal, there’s still the rare traveler fighting the status quo.
Masks, vaccines, and border closures have become so common in the travel industry we barely remember what it was like to be free to see the world.
However, a new dawn is ahead. Countries are beginning to say goodbye to all the COVID-19 mandates and welcoming tourists back with open arms – maskless and all.
CNN Travel reports, “A small but increasing number of destinations are lifting all of their Covid-related travel restrictions, regardless of vaccination status, including some European favorites.”
Is your top summer destination among the few that have lifted their oppressing COVID-related travel restrictions?
Maybe so!
Hot vacation spots like the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Aruba are all on the list of countries that have chosen to drop mandates such as masks or vaccines.
This is shocking considering Britain had a long stint of tight COVID regulations, even closing their borders for an extended period of time.
Just in this last year, British citizens were required to get not one – but two – COVID-19 vaccinations in order to keep their passports – holding citizens hostage and unable to visit family and loved ones unless they complied.
Major airlines have finally allowed some logic and reason to seep through and have dropped the most annoying of all COVID rules – one that has raked in more than $644,000 in fines since February of 2021 according to the Transportation Security Administration…
The mask mandate!
Of course, only for select flights.
British Airlines and Virgin Atlantic have both lifted their mask mandates during flights, but if your destination country still has tyrannical rules in place, then you must abide by them whether the airlines do or not.
The United Kingdom is not the only country looking toward brighter days.
Despite having draconian mandates, Finland has surprisingly been titled “The World’s Happiest Country” by The World Happiness Report – still, it’s a shame they haven’t been more like their Scandinavian neighbor Sweden who was the first country to offer “no mask” flights on their popular airline, Scandinavian Airlines.
So far, there are still a whopping 125 destinations sporting the dreaded “avoid travel” banner, according to the CDC, so you may want to opt for a road trip instead to save your money and your sanity.
Biden’s administration would have masks permanently attached to the faces of all those who don’t robotically follow their will if they could!
But it turns out the rest of the world is not in agreement – or at least the countries that want to salvage a shred of their tourist revenue.
So, continue to check your favorite destinations to see if any COVID-19 restrictions are being lifted then maybe, just maybe, you can travel freely – as one should.
