Let’s be honest, flying with children is naturally tough. But then when you add in “safety measures” and mask mandates, it can seem almost unbearable.
Getting a 2-year-old to sit quietly through a flight is nearly impossible. So getting them to sit still WHILE wearing a mask – yeah good luck with that.
And when one family couldn’t get their toddler to keep her mask on all the way – you won’t believe how rogue ruthless airline officials tortured this poor family in response.
Parents do everything they can to soothe their little ones on a long flight, from providing snacks to bringing a full activity kit to keep them entertained.
Eliz Orban was traveling with her husband and 2-year-old daughter on a United Airlines flight and thought she was prepared with snacks to calm her child and keep her happy.
And following all the “safety protocols,” the couple did everything they could to get their little girl to wear her mask. But acting like toddlers usually do, the little girl wasn’t exactly sitting with her hands folded happily wearing the mask.
Ya know – because she is a TODDLER!
A video was taken of the dad (who was wearing a mask) desperately trying to get the little toddler to keep hers on too – but impatient airline officials who witnessed the struggle decided the only solution was to boot the entire family off the plane for “noncompliance.”
The little girl’s father pleaded with the flight attendant to let them stay, assuring them he was doing his best to get his 2-year-old daughter to comply.
Even the toddler (who was now crying) was trying to hold the mask over her own face – traumatized at all the commotion surrounding her and her parents.
But the ruthless airline attendant didn’t care. Even though the plane had already left the gate, it was turned around so the family could be kicked off in sheer humiliation.
The New York Post reported:
“Orban’s husband explained that he was doing the best he could — even holding the mask over his daughter’s face — but the crew member was unmoved.
“I’ve got to ask you to get off this plane,” he said.
Asked by Orban’s husband if such a move is routine, the crew member replied, “If there’s non-compliance, yes.”
Orban’s husband continued to insist that the only lack of compliance was from a toddler.
“I’m literally holding it over my daughter’s face,” he said. “This is compliance right here.”
At that point, Orban chimed in.
“We can’t force her,” she said. “She’s literally holding it, and she’s crying.”
When the crew member refused to budge, Orban and her family ultimately exited the plane.”
Unbelievable.
And it’s not like the family was trying to cause a scene…
… the dad was even holding the mask over his precious daughter’s face in a good faith effort to show the airline officials they weren’t trying to be contrary – but truly trying to abide by the airline regulations.
But instead of giving this family grace, smug airline officials on a power trip completely humiliated this poor family and forced them off the plane.
Not to imagine further traumatizing the already scared and crying 2-year-old who was too young to understand what was actually taking place.
United should be absolutely ashamed for how they treated this poor family, but not surprisingly, they stand by their actions.
Fox News reported:
“In a statement sent to Fox News, a United Airlines spokesperson said, “The health and safety of our employees and customers is our highest priority, which is why we have a multi-layered set of policies, including mandating that everyone on board 2 and older wears a mask.”
But in the name of “safety,” airlines are completely disregarding any human compassion for their passengers, especially those flying with small children!
As Proud American Traveler previously reported, this type of stuff is happening all around the country.
American families spend their hard-earned money to fly only to find themselves harassed and tormented by some flight attendant on a power trip.
From a patriotic Federal Air Marshal who just wanted to wear an American Flag mask, to the brave Navy Seal who killed Bin Laden – no one is safe from the wrath of airline mask mandates.
And for an industry crushed by COVID-19, one would think the airline companies like United would want more passengers to fly their “friendly skies” instead of pushing them away.
What airlines fail to realize is if they keep booting and banning passengers, they’ll eventually be out of business – until of course taxpayers are forced to bail them out again.
