Getting arrested, beaten, discredited, and ignored is how China treats those who defy its decrees.
The People’s Republic of China, as it’s ironically named, is ruled by a ruthless communist government – reminding all us level-headed American citizens why our freedom is so important.
And now, on top of all their other insane COVID policies, China is trying to instill one travel mandate that has airlines turning their heads in shock.
China is not alone in adjusting their travel protocols during the pandemic.
The United States has restricted travel to and from other countries as well as states in some cases.
New York for example, having a tyrant as a governor, requires travelers to have a negative COVID test in hand before boarding the plane, then taking a SECOND test upon landing in the Empire State.
And there’s no enjoying a pricey lunch and the view at the One World Observatory while you wait either (not that you could afford it after paying out-of-pocket for all those COVID-19 tests anyway).
Nope. You have to stay quarantined while you wait for the results!
But China is taking things a step even further.
The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) just released their latest guidelines for its airline industry and it requires a bit more than just your standard COVID sanitizing practices.
The Technical Guidelines for Epidemic Prevention and Control for Airlines Sixth Edition, calls for all airline personnel to “wear disposable diapers so they don’t need to use the bathroom.”
A section on PPE in the manual reads, “It is recommended that cabin crew members wear disposable diapers and avoid using the lavatories barring special circumstances to avoid infection risks.”
Look, we all know that an airplane bathroom can be one of the worst public spaces as far as hygiene goes, but it sure seems much cleaner – not to mention more dignified – than defecating on yourself while walking up and down aisles of people for hours.
Wouldn’t it be more hygienic, cheaper, and easier to just wipe the bathroom down before and after each use and wash your hands – as all people should do?
For example, CNN reported that Boeing has applied for a patent to use UV light to “self-clean” bathrooms after every use.
With the wealth of the Chinese government, surely something to that effect would be much more realistic – and much less humiliating – than making grown adults (without a true medical need) wear a diaper.
Then again, demoralization is just another tactic used by tyrannical governments to control its people, so this ludicrous recommendation is not too surprising.
And what’s next? Forcing passengers to wear diapers?
But don’t give up on the airline industry just yet. With travel restrictions on many previous hot spots in place, there are so many more remote destinations you’ll want to explore.
