1. Plymouth Rock
Legend has it that the Pilgrims first stepped foot here in 1620 when the Mayflower arrived on America’s shores.
But according to the National Museum of American History, the Pilgrims made their first stop at what we now know as Provincetown.
So, if standing in a long line to look at a rock that may or may not have been where the Pilgrims took their first steps on American soil is you’re thing, then by all means.
If not, we recommend visiting Plymouth Plantation and saving yourself the time.
This little mock 17th century English town is loads of fun for the whole family. You’ll be greeted by period actors in period clothing and will get an authentic feel for what life was like for the Pilgrims back then.
